Every Day I Like to Write New Code
By Ben Werdmuller12/28/96

Parody of 'Everyday is a Winding Road'. Apologies to Sheryl Crow.

I got a job as a Microsoft programmer I've had people swear at me more than twice;
It's not high on intellectualism The hours aren't fair but the paycheques are nice
The apps have bugs They still get bought even though they suck
Memory use is high Hard disk space gets low These are the days when anything goes
Every day I like to write new code Make it run a bit slower Every day I waste some time
Making it run more slowly And I'm feeling fine
Our shipping deadline is round Easter But there's a party on Tuesday night;
I'm just wondering if I should get stoned Or if I should stay up coding all night
The apps have bugs They run as if they're powered by slugs
Sometimes I get high Sometimes I code And then there's the days when I decide to do both Every day I like to write new code Make it run a bit slower
Every day I drink a little wine We're all a bit tipsy
Every day I like to write new code Make it run a bit slower
Every day I drink a little wine We're all a bit tipsy But we're feeling fine
The Windows 97 team is like anarchy They do what the hell they please
I've been wondering if all the things I've seen Were ever real, were ever really happening
Every day I like to write new code Make it run a bit slower Every day I waste some time
Making it run more slowly Every day I like to write new code Make it run a bit slower
Every day I waste some time Making it run more slowly And I'm feeling fine
Every day I like to write new code Every day I like to write new code....
