Of all the development tools and productivity software Microsoft produces, FrontPage is by far the least compliant with commonly accepted standards. FrontPage is so bad that even including it with certain versions of Office has not been enough to make it a popular tool for Web design - much less the "industry standard" most of Microsoft's products become. Regrettably, some people do choose (or are forced) to use FrontPage for Web design - a situation that results in pages which break the common standards, cause headaches for designers who prefer to work directly with HTML, and usually include unnecessary tags and weird formatting that make FrontPage documents much larger than similar pages created in better design tools. This is a product that must absolutely be replaced - and we recommend any of the tools listed below as perfect to replace it with.
